Our stories, experiences and memories are etched into the stark walls of the Victoria Theatre Ruins.

Although the ghosts were silent, the echoes of the Victoria Theatre’s history still resonate within the Ruins.

The ruins of the Victoria Theatre in Gliwice are entering a new chapter in their history. The site, which until now has mainly served as a seasonal venue and a place of symbolic significance, has the potential to become the focal point of a wider regeneration project for this part of the city centre.

METROPOLITAN DESIGN WEEK – that is the name of our project, which has received funding from the Creative Sectors Development 2026 programme run by the Institute of Creative Industries.

The project on Gerard Wilk has been selected as one of the 21 organisations to receive funding from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, ranking sixth in terms of points. We have thus outperformed the country’s leading cultural institutions!

The City of Gliwice has launched a ‘design-and-build’ tender for the first phase of the regeneration of the Victoria Theatre Ruins. This marks the start of a long-term process aimed at both modernising the building and creating a new Gliwice Cultural Zone in its surroundings.

In the coming years, the area around the Victoria Theatre Ruins is set to become part of the Gliwice Culture Zone – a new, multi-purpose public space encompassing the block bounded by Zwycięstwa, Barlickiego, Dworcowa and Kłodnicka streets.
